Raised in Lineless Youth House 124. Upon reaching an age to serve, enlisted aboard IKV DaH'HoS and placed in the Engineering department. Quickly became an officer and Chief Engineer. While still a junior officer, he won a challenge for Klingon Legion of Assault Warriors Operations office. A leading force in the ascension of DaH'HoS to greater classes of vessel, finally reaching Vor'Cha-class and Legion Flagship. After the loss of DaH'HoS due to Changeling infiltration, transferred to IKV ghop qeylIs and challenged for command. Won challenge and commands vessel to this day. Led its advancement to Vor'Cha-class and introduced the Vor'Cha-DaH'HoS variant of the Vor'Cha design (based on modifications made to IKV DaH'HoS during its service. Vor'Cha-DaH'HoS variant designed by K'orvette). Additional Engineering notes: Designed a variant of the B'rel Scout to be carried aboard Vor'Cha-DaH'HoS variant. Consultant in the design and development of the fighter complement carried aboard Vor'Cha-DaH'HoS variant. Designed the up-gunned K'Vort-DaH'HoS variant of the K'Vort Heavy Cruiser. Designed an up-gunned variation of the K'T'inga-class Battlecruiser. Consultant on the development of the Armageddon-class Assault Transport (derived from the Vor'Cha-class). House History: Adopted from House 124 into House H'Nter shortly after entry into military service. Spent some time in House H'Nter before conflict formed between H'Nter and Reshtarc. Refused to stand with the H'Nter when he felt that the H'Nter were wrong in their actions against the Reshtarc. After being abandoned by H'Nter, was adopted into Reshtarc after showing support for them. Made Director of Reshtarc Merchant Fleet and boq'du (advisor to Line Lord). During Reshtarc civil war of 2372, stripped of title by Line Lord when he opposed the actions of the deranged leadership. K'orvette and those Reshtarc vessels & troops loyal to him supported the Marrik faction vying for leadership. Restored to office when joh Marrik took control of House Reshtarc. Has recruited several individuals into House Reshtarc during time of Line membership, including may'qel (now Commander of Reshtarc First Special Operations Warfare unit) during the time of mutiny by vessels of the Legion's Western operational area. Made Military Governor of the Morsid system, in the H'Rask sector, by joh Marrik. This system is near the Romulan area of the triangle region. Charted but only recently starting to be developed at this time, a number of research operations are in progress in the worlds within the system. Cultural analysis studies in progress on inhabited worlds. This region of Empire space is noteworthy in that it is also the home sector of Strikebase Vengeance, which in turn is the primary provider of defensive forces for the Morsid system. After a terrorist attack in the Reshtarc home system of Mempa killed Marrik and much of the existing House leadership, a number of factions banded together to create the Mempa Alliance which ruled the family for a few years until at attack on the MaS’ich compound destabilized the Alliance. K’orvette was the victor in a series of personal challenges and restored the leadership of the family to a single Line Lord. He holds this office to this day in addition to existing Fleet duties as Commanding Officer of IKV Hand of Kahless and Vice Legion Commander of KLAW Fourth Fleet. At this time the use of the honorific “zantai” began. =========================================================== BIOGRAPHY OF K'ORVETTE RESHTARC Persona of Paul Stacy Klingon Legion of Assault Warriors I started life not knowing who I was. My first memories are shortly after I became a ward of the Empire and placed in Lineless Youth House 124 after the presumed death of my parents. The circumstances of their deaths remain unknown to me, as do their names and family line (if they had one.) I am suspicious they may have worked either for Imperial Intelligence or perhaps a covert operations unit of the military due to the difficulty I have had in attempting to learn who they were, even after achieving high status in the Klingon Legion of Assault Warriors. Some time after entering the orphanage, I was adopted out by Lord Admiral Khur zantai-H'Nter into his line (his exact motivation for choosing me remains unknown to me to this day.) At the time I reached the point of declaring my career intention I immediately applied to and was accepted into the Imperial Klingon Navy. I started out in the enlisted ranks and was assigned to yet another remote corner of the Empire and placed aboard a frontier scout vessel, the Imperial Klingon Vessel DaH'HoS, in the service of the Klingon Legion of Assault Warriors. I was immediately assigned to Chief Engineering Specialist due the position being vacant and the Engineering knowledge I acquired in my hobby of engineering study. I quickly enrolled in the Officer Training School and was one of their first students enrolled in their then-new "train-in-the-field" program. This allowed me to take the training program while remaining on my ship. Quickly completing my studies, I waited patiently to find out how well I had performed. Due to problems at the Academy, I was forced to wait for some time with many other warriors for our evaluations and our fates in service to the Empire. Having waited for a long time to be evaluated by the Academy, I was made aware that the position of K.L.A.W. Legion Operations/Imperial Star Academy Commandant was available, the challenge being conducted at an upcoming gathering of the Fleet. I took a period of leave and set out in a shuttle to attend this gathering, deciding it was finally time to assert myself within the Empire if I ever hoped to achieve glory. After meeting the other contender for the job, I decided this would be my opportunity to make my mark in Empire service. I had some concern due to my competitor already being an established presence within the Legion while I was completely unknown to them, but I went ahead with my effort. I was able to win the position, as well as acceptance from the other warriors gathered there. Some of my support came from a desire to spread Legion Command from its central location outward through the Empire, so I was able to spearhead this effort. It is rare that one can head the Academy he had yet to graduate from himself! I was immediately promoted to the rank of full Lieutenant at this time. Having brought Legion Operations and the Academy back with me to my home territory, I immediately set out to reopen the Officer Training School. Among the first Officer Candidates whose performance required evaluating was myself. It was determined that I had properly passed the Officer curriculum. It took some time, but the backlog of Officer Candidates was finally cleared up and applications were being processed again. While a member of House H'Nter, I began efforts to try to form an alliance between the houses of Reshtarc and H'Nter shortly after my promotion to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Lord Admiral Khur approved my efforts to form this alliance. The leadership of the house Reshtarc also seemed to be agreeable to such a union. (I later was told it had been discussed previously but not as seriously as my attempt.) I was going to publicly announce the union at a gathering of the Legion, but disaster befell me before I could do it. During the course of the gathering, a long-standing feud between Houses Vatari and H'Nter was finally brought to a resolution. Shortly after the resolution occurred, Admiral Khur abruptly stopped the new leader of the Reshtarc family from announcing his ascension to House leadership, Captain K'Paal sutai Reshtarc. K'Paal was offended at this, but would have been satisfied with an apology from Admiral Khur. Khur refused to give an apology, which offended K'Paal even more. K'Paal changed his demand to require Khur to publicly apologize to each family member individually, which Khur also refused to do. Normally, such an event would be a simple matter of one family feuding with another, but this one had special meaning to me. Because Khur's offense to the Reshtarc family over a minor incident immediately destroyed any chance of a family union, I felt that Admiral Khur had stabbed me in the back. This family union would have been of mutual benefit, but Khur's stubbornness helped to insure that no union would be possible for some time to come. I felt that my contributions to the family was viewed to be of no value in the eyes of the H'Nter leadership, and therefore I had no more value to the family. From that day, I considered myself abandoned by the H'Nter family. The new leadership of the Reshtarc family soon became aware of my newly lineless status. After some discussions about philosophy and Empire, I was given an opportunity to petition the Reshtarc family for membership. I believe they made this offer partially out of recognition for my efforts to try to form an alliance between the Reshtarc and H'Nter families, recognizing that I held the family in high regard. I made my petition and was quickly accepted; I am sure partly because they sought to have a person in a position of power in Legion Command, which I already possessed. The membership of the Reshtarc family quickly accepted me as one of their number. I credit the leadership of House Reshtarc with helping in my personal growth and making me a better member of Klingon society. K'Paal made me a member of the boQ'du body, a council of advisors to the Line Lord. I was also installed as the Director of the House merchant fleet (which would be transferred to military duty in the event of war). At the same time that I was brought into the Reshtarc family, my vessel was one of the first in the Legion to be upgraded to the highest level in the Legion, that of Command vessel (Deployment Level Five.) The officers and crew of the DaH'HoS were most pleased with this development since it complimented the only positive event that happened at the time of the beginning of the Reshtarc-H'Nter feud: the bestowing of Flagship status to the DaH'HoS. We carried this title proudly for many months after receiving it. Some time later, the DaH'HoS participated in the great Cardassia invasion campaign of 2371 ordered by Lord Gowron and the Klingon High Council. We proudly flew into Cardassian space with the rest of the Legion in our effort to stop any forces of the Dominion of the Gamma Quadrant from spreading their influence into the Alpha Quadrant. Many fine warriors emerged from this battle, in addition to many who went on to service in the Black Fleet in Sto'vo'kor upon their deaths. Many stories and songs will come from this effort I am sure. Some vessels had been redirected to the Federation station Deep Space Nine in an attempt to capture the new leadership of the Cardassian government who had fled from Cardassia Prime. Regrettably the DaH'HoS, and much of the rest of the KLAW Fleet, was positioned too far away to be able to participate before Gowron ordered the cessation of action against the Federation station. We felt we should have continued our efforts. Many warriors of the empire rejoiced at the collapse of the Khitomer Accords with the Federation, believed to be inevitable and best for the Empire. Our birthright to conquer the galaxy was finally beginning to be carried out again after being chained to good relations with the Federation for far too long. When our initial offensive ended I had received a promotion to full Commander. The DaH'HoS had been assigned to patrol duty along the Klingon-Romulan border zone. Concerns had arisen in the High Council about potential Romulan aggression against Empire space after the invasion of the Cardassian Empire. Several Empire warships were lost or damaged during the invasion and subsequent attack on the Federation station Deep Space Nine, interfering with ship deployment plans. Since Romulus was regarded as a great potential direct threat against Empire security, those available vessels with the highest levels of firepower were redeployed to the border area until the fleet was brought back up to pre-invasion deployment strength. Because the levels of damage received by the DaH'HoS during the invasion were minor, we were immediately transferred to patrol duty after a two-day resupply layover at Starfortress Zarten, near the Cardassian border zone. While on patrol, we received a subspace communication to divert to the nearby Jumtape system to meet up with an Empire transport ship for personnel transfers. After waiting for two hours upon our arrival, the transport ship appeared on our sensors and approached. They transmitted an identification code of the system used through the end of the invasion effort. It was decided to accept their code even though our mission orders referred to a new code that was to go into effect at about the time period of the transport's arrival (who knows if they received word?) Some (myself included) advised against accepting their code, but were overruled by the bridge command staff. The transport ship assumed position along side the DaH'HoS and began beaming over the replacement personnel. Days after the supply ship had left us, we discovered an unexpected cargo item: Dominion Changelings. After escaping into the ship and taking control of the computer system, we began efforts to retake the ship. They had locked the DaH'HoS on a course direct to Qo'noS, so we had to act quickly. We were able to kill one of the enemy agents, but many crewmen were lost defending the ship. After it became clear that control could not be regained, we saw that we would have to destroy the ship to deny them further use of it. Fortunately, IKV ghop qeylIs had found us and been following us for some time. We were able to evacuate the senior officers and some crewmembers before the autodestruct system activated. All members of House Reshtarc decided to remain aboard the ghop qeylIs to replace their losses from the Cardassian invasion. It was decreed that the assets of House X'Vorkai (the family of the senior bridge staff) would be seized to help offset the cost of replacing the ship. Upon beginning our deployment, I issued a challenge for command of the ghop qeylIs. Since I was denied the opportunity to take over the DaH'HoS, I took this opportunity to continue my efforts at gaining personal status in Empire society. By the time all was completed I had assumed command. Somewhat surprisingly, a small mutiny broke out aboard ship only an hour afterwards. It took some time, but the mutiny was ended. Various actions were taken in an effort to prevent such action from occurring again. The rest of the crew of ghop qeylIs expressed their support for me in my new position aboard ship. At the next gathering of the Legion I received a formal promotion to the rank of Captain. At this gathering the vessel was also upgraded to Vor'Cha-class. The former commanding officer was promoted to the rank of Admiral for her work in the Legion and her office as Vice-Legion Commander. With this upgrade began what, to this day, is an on-going development project: the Vor'Cha-DaH'HoS variant of the Vor'Cha-class Attack Cruiser. Containing many of the systems first developed on the IKV DaH'HoS, it was permitted to allow this variant to carry the DaH'HoS name to honor the vessel that helped to first pioneer many of the innovations contained on IKV ghop qeylIs. The Vor'Cha-DaH'HoS carries several more weapon installations than the standard Vor'Cha, including three varieties of disruptors and phaser system. Also under evaluation is a first-generation phase cloaking device able to allow ghop qeylIs to pass through solid matter. Work continues to improve its ability to operate for long periods of time. I aided in the development of a new aspect of this system, the Phase Transporter. This system allows the transporting of equipment and personnel through deflector shields by phasing the matter stream out of normal space, therefore not being subject to the shields of the target. There is currently a severe limitation to its operating range because of the matter stream returning to normal space, which is being worked on by Imperial engineering personnel. In middle to late 2373, conflict grew within House Reshtarc. The Line Lord, K'Paal sutai Reshtarc, began issuing a series of increasing irrational decrees. Beginning with orders about who House members may associate with, these orders became arrest warrants for numerous personnel of the House, mostly Marine forces, accusing them of plotting against him. I was forced to restrain my Marine Force Leader, may'qel Reshtarc, from acting on his own due to the need for him to remain in our area of operations. A number of Marine personnel became wanted personnel with multiple assassination attempts being made against them. Over time, two major factions emerged among those foremost in the group of wanted personnel. One was led by Captain K'joH, leading the majority of Naval forces. The second faction was led by Colonel Marrik, which was supported by the majority of Marine personnel. My duties as a Legion Command officer, as well as my duties to ghop qeylIs, limited my ability to become involved for a long time. My serving in a remote area from House Reshtarc also made it difficult to gather information on events. After personnel acting with ghop qeylIs took over one of our B'rel scouts and set course for Reshtarc territory, I redeployed other fleet vessels to our area of operations and ordered ghop qeylIs to pursue. Having retrieved the vessel and personnel from Strikebase Vengeance who had intercepted them, may'qel and I requested and received Leaves of Absence so that we could become involved in the conflict. I took command of a dozen vessels that came to the rescue of Marrik's forces during a battle between forces led by K'joH and Marrik. After having spent much time studying the chain of events I decided to give my support to the Marrik faction, feeling it better sought to serve the interests of the Line as a whole. As one of the presiding judges of K'Paal's trial, a vote of discommendation was cast by the Legion. After assuming the role of Line Lord, Marrik revoked many of the decrees of his predecessor, including one removing me from Directorship of the House Merchant fleet and Reshtarc boQ'du. I was also made Military Governor of the Morsid System in the H'Rask Sector, near the Romulan portion of the triangle region and Director of the Special Projects Office for Reshtarc Research and Development. I took notice, as did the rest of the family, during the terrorist attack on the Mempa system which killed much of the family and its leadership, but the Mempa Alliance seemed to keep the family going so I did not become involved with it while it continued to function. After the attack by Kintaro on the MaS’ich compound, I was finally forced back to Reshtarc space and see for myself what was happening. Immediately seeing the chaos about to begin as the Alliance crumbled, I surprised everyone by challenging for the leadership myself, I myself being the most surprised in retrospect. Though I had not planned on taking such action, I could neither allow my adopted family to fall further in the eyes of the rest of the Empire and die a dishonorable death. After several challenges I won the day and assumed the position of Line Lord vacant since the death of Marrik. My ascension was immediately greeted with rebellion, but I was able to overcome the attempt with the aid of loyal Reshtarc forces and survive to this day.
